I grew up in a Christian home, and my parents and grandparents were instrumental in teaching from the very beginning the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus. Participating in Church was always very central in our family‚Äôs life. I was baptized as a young child, but it was not until my twenties that I began to realize my Baptism. Through the process of the Holy Spirits nudging, my father, mother and many other mentors in the church encouraging me, I realized the deep need that I had to live in a personal relationship with Jesus.

Like many in my generation, I moved away from my faith and got entangle in a lot of activities that were not healthy  spiritually or otherwise. Yet, by the grace of God and the demonstration of grace by others, I renewed my faith.

It was during this time God gave to me an overwhelming sense of call for the first time in my life. Right away I began sharing my faith with others. In time it was clear that I was being called into full time pastoral ministry. This call has taken me many different places as God continues to refine me and guide me into a deeper love and faith in Jesus. I sum up my pilgrimage as a process of refining moments where the Spirit has guided me to see more clearly how deeply God loves us all and desires for us to continue daily in our journey as we grow and serve together in Jesus Christ our Lord!

Fortunately, both my wife Lois and I have been called by God into the pastoral ministry together within the Oklahoma Conference of the United Methodist Church. Today we join you as your pastoring family. While Lois and I will be pastoring different churches, together I look forward to the ministry and the love of Jesus that we will all share in our connection as Methodists for years to come. Thank you for your faithfulness as we move forward in ministry together.
